We’re a small team with big ideas and a passion for doing creative things.
MEET THE TEAM!
Founder’s Letter
We are children of a scientist, raised in a household where curiosity was encouraged and questions were welcomed. At the same time, we were raised to value artistry marked by creativity, meaning, and beauty.
We live in a time where human actions are actively damaging the Earth, often without reflection of the consequences for future generations. Science explains these consequences; art helps us feel them. Too often, these disciplines are separated—funded, taught, and valued in isolation—when in reality they are profoundly interconnected.
The Zare Foundation exists to bridge that divide.
Our work begins by supporting underprivileged artists and students of science, but our impact extends far beyond individual recipients. Through their discoveries, creations, and contributions, entire communities benefit. When science and art are allowed to inform one another, they generate understanding, responsibility, and hope—tools essential to building a more just and sustainable world.
What makes the Zare Foundation distinct is our commitment to intersectionality. Our own lives are woven with the physics of music, the painting of psychology, and writing of creation of life itself. This lived experience is not theoretical—it is practical, embodied, and deeply human. It is the Zare Foundation’s guiding lens.
The Zare Foundation also carries forward a legacy. Our parents, Richard and Susan, modeled generosity, intellectual rigor, and an unrelenting desire to understand how the world works. They are dreamers, asking not only what is, but what could be. The Zare Foundation seeks to turn those dreams into reality, ensuring that curiosity and compassion remain forces for good.
Governance of the Foundation resides with three sisters as Board members, supported by our parents as advisors, alongside professional leadership in operations and development. Power, accountability, and stewardship are central to our structure.
The Zare Foundation at its fullest potential will be known for its innovative approach in supporting work that links science and the arts—and for its role in helping shape a world that values both knowledge and imagination, reason and wonder.
Thank you for being part of this vision.
